Hi first post and hoping for some help with locating where to get a fuel return hose made up for BMC 1500 engine in East London.  Our sons boat is moored near to Limehouse.  The issue we have is we live 75 miles away and need to be on the boat to get correct sizes.  It has failed BSS due to a score mark and at the weekend and Monday will be on the boat and trying to find out where to go to get a new hose.  We wont know the sizes until at the boat.  I will attach some photos in case anyone is able to advise.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The important size is the little diameter of the "pipe" bits that stick out either end. Can your son measure them. My guess is 1/4" or 5/16" (6 or 8mm) but on old boats one can never be 100% sure. You also need the length and probably new compression nuts and olives to go on the pipe bits. Visually comparing the size of the supply pipe and the little pipe bits I suspect 1/4"

I would expect any hydraulic hose makers to be able to make one up, and some chandlers/boatyards can also do it. May be

As Tony already said, they also look like 1/4" to me, but they look like Wade nuts, they are usually marked with the size on the machined ring of the nut, sods law says it will be underneath where its difficult to see.

I would expect most chandlers would have them "on the shelf" rather than having to get one made.

Thought I'd give you an update and wonder if anyone has any thoughts?

We arrived at the boat and removed the hose and took it to Pirtek.  We said it was a fuel hose for a boat and they said they could have it ready  by next day.

It was as suggested 1/4" Wade universal.  We collected it and refitted and were pleased apart from the exorbitant price. However we were in a position where we no choice due to time restrictions and the BSS inspector coming the next day.

Well the bad news is it failed as apparently isn't compliant.  We said we wanted a second opinion from the BSS office.  Awaiting the outcome.

I will attach a photo of the hose before it was fitted.
