Nightwatch
In the fifties, Dad had a garage in Chorley. About that time there were Standard 8s andStandard 10s. They used to do accident recovery and repairs. When one of each of the above cars came in, one with front damage one with rear damage and both were written off. With full approval of the DVLA of the day they cut them both in half and joined them together. Kept the badges on each end. If I remember correctly the car was sold with full knowledge to the buyer. Full details here https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-registration/radically-altered-vehicles I had a kitcar based on a BMC 1100 (engine, subframes) box section frame and glass fibre body and kept the original registration.
