And wood  but my Rayburn won't stay in overnight with wood. Remember its only for 4 months of the year the rest of the time solar does everything

And you claim to be saving the planet by driving an EV ?

Why are you burning stuff that causes atmospheric pollution ?

I suspect Peter plants a tree, grows it on the allotment, cuts it down, burns it. Plants another one, ad infinitum.

So no CO2 pollution, net zero!!

Particulates are a whole nother matter...

Cos I would freeze otherwise! In the way of the world I don't create a lot of pollution but wood in the day and Anthracite at night is my guilty and needed pleasure. How much pollution do you cause?

Actually Mike, when I lived in the cottage in Scotland we had our own wood! I used to coppice the trees for firewood so I was very carbon neutral. We also had a wind turbine that heated our storage heaters, it was nearly always windy so it did well and in the summer got us hot water from the immersion heater

Everything's a compromise. An electric car is a huge one. And,  in my opinion, nothing any of us can do is going to save the planet while there are a hundred thousand planes in the air every day and water companies are filling the rivers and the sea with sewage.

One can try to cut one's pollution output as a (futile) personal gesture, which is a good thing to do, but you can't accuse that someone of hypocrisy because they aren't perfect. Not unless you are,  anyway. I'm sure someone said something about that,  once.

The great thing about forums is I don't have to enter into further discussion on the subject.

I think he is yes.

And I've said so many times.

He still runs a diesel vehicle for leisure purposes.

I do too but dont lecture anybody on here about killing children with particulates.

HTH.

Well at least you have the courage to voice your opinion. I salute you sir.

But you make a living out of ensuring older and very inefficient gas  boilers keep working.

In the green stakes I would say that makes you a hypocrite too.

Why are you thanking him? That is his opinion. We don't yet know what yours is, though you have Implied it.

Another  great thing about internet forums is you can leave people in suspense.
