Fire near Horseley Junction

2ft sounds about right for the Wyrley & Essington. Did that in company with Nb Temujin to go around this stoppage, not a particularly deep-drafted boat but he could barely manage 2mph from Horseley Fields to Sneyd. Lark thankfully draws next to nothing so alright for me!

As long as there is 2 foot of water whats the problem?

It is long way from the original discussion, but then how deep draft are working boats ? Or even that boat shown in the image by the fire

I was thinking back to @nicknorman and the Minworth flight

Today's update - opening delayed again to end of March.

We are currently waiting for the demolition contractor to begin dredging works. This is required before opening navigation, as the debris would affect boater safety.

The towpath will need to remain closed as the dredging operations progress.

We expect this work to be completed by the end of March, and are therefore aiming to open navigation by then.

We aim to provide another update, including a re-opening date, by the 21st March.
