Anchor High Offley - current opening hours?

If CAMRA have looked by recently, their Whatpub site is usually a good way to check opening times and other salient details.

In the case of the Anchor, their opening times listing is slightly different. Be interesting to hear first hand who is is right:

Monday Closed
Tuesday Closed
Wednesday Closed
Thursday Closed
Friday 7.00 pm - 11.00 pm
Saturday 7.00 pm - 11.00 pm
Sunday Noon - 3.00 pm

They’re the winter opening times.

When they ‘officially’ start I dunno. 😃

Just looked in my diary and I arrived Thursday and left Monday.

I am sure I had a pint in there on the Thursday evening.

They are busy with campers and caravaners through the summer so I am sure they open evening time in the week.

But you got me doubting myself now.

yes

because it gets so quite in the winter.

It really is out in the sticks.
There are a hard core of locals that use the place but small in number.
There seems to be a growing population of boaters opposite which is a good sign.

The pub relies heavily on the campers and caravaners, and passing boaters in the summer months.

I can confirm Glenn’s original response is correct, just called in. 6x is as it should be.

I'm currently moored outside The Anchor.

I'll start by saying that Wadworths 6X is on my 'most boring beers in the whole wide world list', but,......

The interior of the pub can't have changed for the past 50+ years. When I arrived the area to the right of the door had folk chatting to each other. (Much in the way people in micropubs do)

I took my beer outside and sat in the sunshine on a bench.

All I could hear is birdsong and the occasional passing boat. No traffic noise, not even distant farm machinery.

It is so beautifully peaceful.

So, don't much like the beer (what on earth is a Wiltshire beer doing inthis part of the world?) but yes, I 'do' get The Anchor.

And that in my opinion is fare enough

Is it still poured from a large polythene jug behind the bar?
