Tony Brooks
That might not be bug. It is so light in colour it may be the waxy stuff RCR reported on a while ago. Possibly a reaction between the fuel and certain additives.
Cheshire cat
My first thought was "Why isn't it pink?"
wandering snail
Routine service that happened to be 11 days after a diesel fill. No additives before that Tony but has now got Exocet treatment added, just in case. It's a pale pinky/brown now it's dry.

john.k
Looks like the fatty residue that often occurrs in bio diesel made out of meat processing waste

Lady M
I have come across Exocet as a treatment which diesel vendors put in their main tank to extend the life of the fuel. However, I don't know if they also make a bug infection treatment.
blackrose
Not sure if adding a link to another forum breaches this forum's rules, but there's a similar thread here from YBW that might be useful, although I'm not entirely convinced your example is diesel bug. https://forums.ybw.com/index.php?threads/is-this-the-diesel-bug-piccy.199920/

I too find the post from bargebuilder in very poor tatse. HMS Sheffied was sunk by an exocet missile in the Falklands. Of the 281 crew members, 20 (mainly on duty in the galley area and computer room) died in the attack with another 26 injured, mostly from burns, smoke inhalation or shock. Only one body was recovered. The survivors were taken to Ascension Island on the tanker British Esk. The wreck is a war grave and designated as a protected place under the Protection of Military Remains Act 1986.

There's both, a treatment and a protector. We've put the bug kill one in, just in case, and will use the protector next time we put diesel in.
