Yes new boat to us. Will have only sailed from garstang to start of ribble link. Engine has been flushed and fully serviced but not had any serious use since vendor did it 2 weeks ago before putting on sale (engine had issues before the repair work)

Try Debdale Wharf Marina, they have a hoist on site and a nice little run to Nottingham, good luck.

A crane each end and a lorry for a 58ft boat is going to cost a tidy sum. Have you considered taking someone more experienced along with you for a Ribble Link crossing instead?

DIY is not that cheap when you take into account the cost of fuel etc and having to take several days 'off work'.

For us there was little difference between truck and DIY but we chose DIY because we bought the boat to use, but in the OPs circumstances with an unknown boat that could breaksdown and be stuck in 'no mans land' it is a greater risk.

The advantage of using such as Newark marina is that their hoist will take you off the truck and drop you in the water and it was £160, do not know this years rates.

The marina has the benefit of a full equipped chandlery, workshops and mechanics should anything found to be not working.

If the OP had the time and the engine was known to be reliable at high revs then this would make good sense. However, due to to their time constraints and the engine having recently been worked on, the road route and nearby launch ( @PD1964 mentioned Debdale Wharf or similar location with hoist on site to reduce cost) seems to work better in this scenario.

The OP has already said they are happy to spend a week boating, so that would get the boat half way to Nottingham. Could then take a mooring at that half way point, and then bring it closer to home at a later date.

And if the OP moves the boat by road and then spends time pootling around the Midlands canals, they will still have no idea how reliable the engine is at high revs over an extended period. Until they need to do it.

I think that what you and I missed is the context of this boat move. Have only just realised that the OP has previously mentioned a boat for their child to also use as occasional accommodation as a student and is now looking to move their purchase to a suitable mooring near Nottingham. Lift it, shift it, put it in close to home mooring makes sense here.

If you can get it on a HIAB Wayne Roscow from Preston will lift it out of the water, transport it and launch it again . It probably needs to have a flat bottom to sit it on the lorry. Our boat is 25’ approx 6 tonne and it was fine

You can get a 60+ footer on a lorry with a Hiab but its very very expensive as its such a huge tractor unit.

I suggest definitely giving Wayne Roscow a ring then. He was very reasonable price (less than 1/2 2 others)

He is very helpful
