Karen Lea Rainey
Thought I'd share this picture with you of my "fake Epping stove". Recently took a new boat with an Epping stove, well bits of one! Wooden box built to similar size, screw on the original doors add the collar, paint it black and here it is. Now just need a 4 1/2 inch inside diameter flue pipe to add to the authenticity! About 1 metre long should do it, if any body has a piece I'd be 'grate' full.

I have seen one similar where the top lifted for storage of things do not unique

Fixed that for you. Carrying on the fake theme, how about having a plastic flue pipe? Soil pipe is 110mm, so about the right size and comes already coloured black. https://www.toolstation.com/soil-pipe-110mm-3m/p68433 3m is rather long for what you need, but you've got a replacement length for when it gets melted by some one trying to light the stove! I was going to suggest that a label be attached to it saying "Ceci n'est pas une pipe" But the when I started to work out the implications my head couldn't handle it. Nice job by the op by the way.

noddyboater
Personally, I can't see the point of a fake Epping. Unless I can warm my cockles on it with the cabin doors shut behind me while enjoying a single malt I wouldn't bother. I've given up boating in winter several years ago on anything that doesn't have a back cabin stove, it really does make that much of a difference. And what's next, a mock JP2 that opens up to reveal a cocktail cabinet? Says the man whose boat is reputedly the original "washer Josher" !! OldGoat
With so many boats on the system that never move, I would have thought there would be a roaring (pun not intended) in such artifacts. Stove, engines cabin tops.......
harrybsmith
I'm planning to build a functional back cabin stove, somewhat like an Epping for my latest boat build. Planning on CNcing some name badges for it with "gopping" on. It currently exists only as a CAD file, it'll be a winter project
