Well the 'obvious' canal is the L&L, but those old signs are quite common on there so I'm guessing that is not the correct canal?? and has appeared somewhere else.

There's one at Office Lock  L+L, which (2004) has had its letters picked out in red.

 

 

Wall isn't brick.

 

There are some out-of-place signs at the C&RT museums. Maybe StokeBruerne  would be clickable from a moving boat  ??

No and no, but you're the closest so far.

 

There was a bloke adjusting his Ariel across the middle of Leigh bridge holding up four boats around lunchtime though.  We were one of the held up boats.

At first I thought you meant he was adjusting his telly aerial. Then I realised my error and the whole event was on a higher, mystical plane...
