BobPockney
I've seen discussions here about fitting the shunt for the BMV700. Now, it's currently not correct as the negative of the starter and leisure are both connected to the engine body. Thus, alternator charging is not seen by the BMV. So, I was going to disconnect the leisure battery negative from the engine body, but leave the starter battery connected. Then connect the load side of the shunt to the engine body. If I did the same with the starter battery, then the BMV would be seeing that charging current (from the other alternator) which is nothing to do with the leisure battery state. Is this all correct ? Quattrodave
Seadog posted this recently: Only one connection to the batteries from one end of the shunt, each and every other negative connection must be on the load end. Otherwise, any circuits with negatives bypassing the shunt will not be measured by the BMV.
