Anyone got Open Canal Map running on tablet?

Of course does anyone has any alternatives before I resort to my Windows laptop  :(

So that should rule out Android 11

Something in the tablet is causing it to crash the system.

I've noticed that some of the moorings on the Nene are nowhere near the river. 😱

Just downloaded it to try on my Samsung Tab A running Android 11.

Works OK, if a little 'clunky', but no crashes.

Memory issues perhaps? Google earth often crashes my tablet.

Can only be memory allocation not lack of memory as it's a 6/128gb* tablet 🤭

Hopefully the next update will show where boats are moored at normal river levels, not shortly after flooding... :boat:

Update

Providing I don't hit the locate button it works as soon as I do it crashes.

So it's something to do with location 😟

Just checked the spec on Mrs HN's Lenovo and its behind yours and will only update to Android 10. Much less memory too, but I'll give it a whirl in a sec when its finished updating. She is notoriously lax in keeping her tech. up to date.

Runs fine on Mrs HN's older Lenovo tablet. Location works fine too. Hers only has 32gb of memory, Android 10 and a slower processor though so not a good comparison in the end.

(Annoyingly the maps scroll much more smoothly on hers than on my Samsung).

Tried the locate several times on my S20 and no crashes, does locate work OK with other apps on your tablet?

It's OK with Google maps, Freepoint, Just park, Hive etc.

Very odd it's the only one that crashes.

Location shows up fine when I open it, it's just when I tap the locate button the System UI dies.

Another one if I switch from maps to satalite view it dies as well.

I will email Tom with all the queries.

I wanted to get running before I bought a cheap tablet to run it on the boat, just maybe it might work on one but not my expensive one 😟

It seems odd that my 5 year old zenpad runs it, admittadly very slowly but your newer tablet is ahving problems.

I get this or similar occasionally with App updates and system updates on my tablet and my phone. Then as if my magic they rectify themselves within 24/48 hours. Presumably as the result of further updates?
