washing machine?

Featured Posts

hello there, been thinking of getting a small washing machine on board.

Are those top loading things any good?  I suspect not but would be interested to hear your thoughts.

Been looking for a 3kg regular small side loading machine but they are pricy.   This would be only for use when moored up and plugged in

many thanks   :)

Not sure about side loading machines? I've had a Zanussi front loading 3kg unit on my boat for the last 16 years. Model ZWC1300W.

It was pricey but it's been worth every penny.

Assuming you mean "Twin Tubs" EXCELLENT and use very little power you don't even need to be 'hooked up'.

Get clothes dryer than an auto machine which is a big benefit on a  boat.

Still available I think as the ZWC1301W.

Good small machine but as it is made in small numbers, a bit expensive, Mine has only needed a door handle in 13 years.

I have the same one, but like most Zanussi machines it doesn't like Victron inverters. If you fill it with a thermo valve set to 10 degrees hotter than the wash temperature, you can unplug the element inside and it doesn't try to heat the water. Uses around 400w peak during the fast spin cycle.

I will second the ZWC, i have had one on my boat for seven years, never had any problems.
