I live on a marina full time and im currently fitting my boat out so I'm not going under any bridges anytime soon, but if I was I would make the wheelhouse collapseable

Perhaps the canvas roof can be retracted /opened up easily ?  

Would aluminum look a better than pvc frames - or is the cost a consideration .

 

There is a live aboard in the marina where I keep my boat. It goes no further than the marina  2 miles  away where there is crane with capacity to lift it out. No low bridges involved. So you would not be alone in building a boat that may move under its own power but is not designed for travelling.

I did not think it possible but it looks even more ugly without the plastic conservatory on the back deck.

It reminds me of a new development I was standing outside last night in Lichfield which had promotional photos of its interiors displayed large in the windows beneath. 

The Old Picture House next to the Whippet pub.

I guess that’s what some want in a boat.

edit to add; having said that, I think the boat is most likely done to a higher spec.
