BMC 1.5 Lift pump removal

Hi there, I can't seem to remove my BMC 1.5 lift pump. After undoing the two retaining bolts the pump has a little wiggle room but will not pull out. I have tried cranking the engine so the cam is in a different location but still no joy. Can anybody shed some light on this for me please?

That is not logical, the arm rests on the outside of the cam and will not stop it coming out. You have bolts not studs and nuts securing it? Odd. It can only be stuck to the gasket.

Pull it out and down.

Thanks for the quick reply Tracy. Today was the second time I've tried to remove it. I'll have another go tomorrow and give it a bit more welly!

I am with Tracy, probably stuck to the block with gasket goo. I would try a thinish lever between the pump body and engine block. Or using a bit of softwood as a drift against the side of the mounting flange.
