Harecastle tunnel South

Hello all,

 

We sometimes go to see bands at Eleven in Stoke and have noticed that it's very close to the Southern end of Harecastle Tunnel.  

 

Would this be a safe place to leave the boat for maybe 4 / 5 hours in the evening?  Or similar question about Westport Lake? We've moored at both locations many times but never left the boat unattended. 

 

Taking our own b+b will be much cheaper than the Travelodge if so.

Westport Lake has always been perfectly safe in our experience.

We have moored at Westport Lake and wandered off in to Burslem on several occasions

Never had any worries about Westport Lake or the tunnel mooring.

I've left the boat unattended at both these locations without any problem.

Never any problem at the tunnel for me either-sometimes walk up to the town for shopping/stretch the legs. Never actually stopped on the Lake.

Dont forget a treat for the ernomous pigs opposite where the tunnel footpath comes out..
