Kings Cross Lock

it's actually St Pancras Lock 🙂

It looks a bit different today, the gasometers in the distance were relocated to other side of the canal and flats and a park built inside them. The gas works site is now a massive redevelopment site mainly of offices including the humungous new Google building currently under construction. The lock cottage was recently sold for £800k

Back in the mid 70's I used to work in the King's Cross area. I used to park my car, free of charge, on waste land near the gasometers.

Then in 2010 I was fitting out a data centre in the area. Moving the gasometers certainly had me confused for a while. In fact the area by the canal was almost unrecognisable.
