Historic Locations beside the Waterway

There are times non waterway related structures can be found beside the waterway, whilst this can be a quite a wide subject, I recently came across a reference to St Edith's Well which is to be found in a field near to High Onn Wharf on the Shropshire Union Canal (Birmingham & Liverpool Junction Canal Section), which is of heritage value and predates the canal by a considerable period. I wonder how many boaters are aware of its existence.
