Chris Lowe
While mapping the Middlewhich branch I came across this view of Stanthorne aqueduct on Bing maps, the current Google view shows it in water. Is this current work or an old view?
GUMPY
Isn't that the breach of a couple of years ago? It's been fixed..... Badly 😱
Hudds Lad
I was always amazed after it was fixed by how many folk would persist in trying to bang pins into the just repaired banking, although i think they only provided rings for two or three boats for some reason. Is this current work or an old view? It is from the 2018 breach. You can see the stranded narrowboat that was very lucky not to get swept away. The Google view may be from either before, or after 2018, with it in water.
Chris Lowe
I thought it was probably an old aerial, but interesting that they actually caught it

Chris Lowe
Yes I've spotted a few oddities while mapping, this is near Welford on the old OS Maps.

Maybe a waggish landowner decided to plant those trees to celebrate something, or the mapmaker put them in as a hidden-in-plain-sight map/copyright identifier...
