Grassman
I think the main problem will be the reluctance of some hospital authorities to deal with you out of their budget. Obviously if it's an emergency that's different though. We cruise around the county for 5 months of the year and following major surgery in 2017 my wife had to have periodic check ups during the following few years. Each time she had to register with a local GP (local to the hospital in the area we were in) as a temporary resident before being able to get an appointment. So it's doable but not without some hassle. Until things settled down after the surgery we also tried to moor overnight in locations near to a decent road access, and these days wherever we stop we always take note of our 'what3words' location just in case we need an ambulance, particularly if moored in fairly remote locations. Lady M
The NHS does not communicate well between different trust areas and, as Grassman says, the key to accessing non-emergency specialist services is via a GP. Also, more specialist services are only offered in some hospitals. When I had treatment for a somewhat rare condition, my consultant for the region was based in the next county and my surgery (plus 3 clinic appointments) was in the county next to that. My follow up appointments involve an X-ray which I could get locally 5 miles away. In fact, I could have the X-ray and only need to see the doctor if there is a problem. Unfortunately it appears impossible to do this technically. There may also be an NHS budget cost allocation implication.

But maybe I'm being too cautious.🤔 Yes, I can offer advice on prepping steel for two-pack epoxy; the best forms heating your boat in winter; correct pressures at which to set an accumulator and hot water expansion tank for your freshwater system, etc. However when it comes to organ transplants I wouldn't have a clue so it's probably better to follow the opinions of the medical experts. If doctors disagree with each other then ask some more questions about why they think that, and then put their points to each other. 2
