Sole marine mini 34 Diesel engine

Hi, I have the above engine ( Mitsubishi) in my boat. 
Does anybody know where the coolant thermostat is housed? There’s no obvious thermostat housing. The engine is 21 years old.

Do you know what the base Mitsubishi engine model is? If so I would have a look at the workshop manual for that as a starting point...It depends how much was changed when it was marinised.

Ok, just found a receipt with engine model,

Mitsubishi K4D-61SS

I’m googling away like a mad man 😂

My K4E, the thermostat is in the top hose.  (Vetus M414)

 

It has what looks like a thermostat housing on the front of the cylinder head, but this is empty.  The top hose has 3 jubilee clips, one at each end to seal the pipe, the 3rd stops the thermostat falling over in the pipe.
