My daughter who lives near Banbury sent me this photo last Sunday 6th Mar.  Out of interest I searched fo sunken boats in Banbury and found the original posting   - Not another one I thought then realised it's the same boat but still in its original colours on the right hand side.  Wonder how much longer it will be there for?

I walked past it on Saturday and thought the same thing. It is sad the owner, possibly not insured but it is an eyesore. When firstsunk it had a number of gas bottles on the roof. I see they have found new homes.

I hated going down that bit. The buildings can make it very windy, so you're steering into the wind and trying to avoid historic boats (one sunk) on one side and normal boats on another. It's probably the worst place within miles to put an old, fragile, sinking wooden boat (I get there might be few options). Also, Banbury smells of burnt coffee. 2/10, would not recommend.

Banbury is a good place. The coffee smell can be very nauseous and offensive depending on wind direction and where you are of course. I did like it. But the welcoming GM Foods Club compensates. Now they have the newly build massive Premiere on one side and the Cinema complex on the other it is certainly a wind tunnel. Never found it too much of an issue getting through Banbury. Banbury was our hideaway during the Covid lockdowns and restrictions. So have a certain loyalty to the town. The sunken wooden boat is now on top of the water.
