Boatman’s Stove

Boothy

Featured Posts

We are, once again, thinking of buying a boat. We owned a 37 foot narrow boat 17 years ago, so this time we are looking at something a bit bigger.

We’ve spotted a decent 40 foot boat with a boatman’s cabin, but the stove is damaged. We haven’t viewed the boat yet, so I can’t comment on the exact nature of the damage other than what is obvious in the photos(top plate coming away ).

In the event that the stove will need replacing or repairing I’ve searched everywhere to find someone who sells or repairs such stoves and, as yet, I’ve failed to find anyone.

Not sure of the make but I’m assuming it’s the usual Epping type found on most boats.

Can anybody offer the name of a boatyard that can help; plus an idea of cost for a new stove and the cost of fitting this replacement?

if I can find a copy of the photo I will post it.

Yup, another recommendation here, we manage to get anything Eppingwise we need from Sarah.

Is Epping a brand, or a style?

If it's a brand, we dont know if the stove in the OP is an Epping. It is merely "assumed" to be the "usual" Epping style stove.

If Sarah is great at Epping, the brand, but not at some of the other brands, she could be a wild goose chase?

So that the OP is not on a wild goose chase, here are the items I stock.

Stoves & Stove Spares (nortoncanesboatbuilders.co.uk)

It's not an exhaustive list, I can get a variety of parts for Eppings, Classics, Premiers, Nippers and Class1C's.
