Most Locks in a Week

Most I've ever single handed in one day was 41.  Tardebigge top lock to the Eagle and Sun.  But it's not actually that hard a day.  The locks are quick and fairly easy to work and there's only a few miles start to finish. 

 

Much harder was Hurleston top lock to the Anchor at High Offley.  Only 30 locks but 25 miles or so too.  Set off at dawn and moored up in the dark too tired to even walk to the pub.

Haven't worked out the number of locks, but before we had kids 4 of us did Lowesmoor Wharf in Worcester - Tardebigge - Gas St - Farmers Bridge - Ashted - Solihull - Knowle - Kingswood - Tardebigge - Worcester.

I don't know about locks per week, but in my younger days I did Cape, Hatton and Lapworth in a day - all single handed.  

 

eta That's 40 locks.  Phew.

I've done 40 locks in a day single-handed on a widebeam. That was 15 years ago. Couldn't do it now though.

..once did Wigrams to the end of the Ashby and back in 2 weeks...8 locks in total, (and one of those was only a couple of inches so didn't really count)....that's about my limit ...

Still struggeling with my week off from 12th to 19th March. So many stoppages, all the rings are out. Thought about hiring at Gayton and going to Oxford and back. But that warns  of strong currents? If not hire at Alvechurch and do as much of the BCN as possible in a week.
