OldGoat Posted November 21, 2021 Report Posted November 21, 2021 Interesting to see that ironworks from a certain company spread their reach fro the BCN down to the Thames! 2
Pluto Posted November 21, 2021 Report Posted November 21, 2021 A winch manufactured by Tangyes of Birmingham which was used to operate the needle weir at Wroclaw (Breslau) on the Oder. I also found Preston-made Lancashire looms in a closed textile mill in the same area of Poland. 2

I'm always interested in Tangye stuff as my father worked for Tangye Shelley (as they later became) in Greet in Birmingham in the 70s. Their glory days of feats like launching the Great Eastern were long gone, but they still made jacks, and I now have one of the prototypes of a new range of hydraulic jacks that he was developing at the time. 1
