LadyG
I want my saloon to be warmer than the bedroom, so no fan. When in bed I can feel if temp is dropping, so I need to get up and attend to fire, it's not a Squirrel and is rather unpredictable, varies according to coals and draughts, so sometimes overnight, rarely from 22.00 to 07.00 , I use kindling and a few dry ovals to get it going again. TNLI
Wood Burning Stove Portable Camping Cooker Tent Heater Firepit Picnic with Pipe | eBay That's the smallest you can find, and it seems to be made to a good standard. I've not tried it with charcoal, but it should burn longer than wood. All you need is an insulated steel tray to fit it to and some kind of rain proof flue top. Like all Carbon based fuel wood and charcoal can cause CO poisoning if the air flow is restricted. So fit a top quality CO monitor, in addition to the cheaper smoke detector, (You can get combined units). CO monitors only last about 10 years before the fail, so write the date on it. Not tried cooking with it yet, as I tend to use my Primus or Alcohol burners.
