agg221
Excellent - enjoy it! We have just got back from giving our J2 its first serious workout. It needs a few things tweaking and a bit of fettling, but when everything was set right it really was good. Certainly got a lot of attention as we went along. BEngo
The 2 cylinder, because of its firing order (2,1,0,0) sounds better than the 3 to my ear. The 3 on the other hand does not make the boat vibrate so much. Both are great engines for canal work. N
Bee
You just need a speaking tube down to the engine room and yell 'Hard Astern' down to the engineer. Funnily enough I've just made a plate for a Kelvin (and an AS3 and a Ruston. Paint is still tacky on the Kelvin plate though so I can't sand it yet. Pluto
I came across this in a 1936 National Engine magazine which does show the two wheels used on GUC boats quite well. The original is in the Waterways Archive, old file no. WM/73/54.
