lpw 3 won't start

Just had boat painted, come to move boat out of dock dam engine won't start ,battery fine engine turns over will start but dies after 30 sec have fuel . Ging to change fuel filters today but anything im missing here ?

Boat painter has blocked fuel tank vent with masking tape or paint? Although 30 secs seems a very short time if the problem is vacuum in the tank. More likely diesel bug has set in, but that will be apparent once you get the filters off.

 

Anyway, it’s clearly a fuel issue of some sort.

Don't suppose the painter has blocked the air intake to stop dust getting? Of the dust has clogged the air filter - both very unlikely.

Sounds like fuel starvation to me. 

 

Being pedantic it appears the engine does actually start but won't continue running. What happens if you try to start it immediately again after it dies?

All fixed now we had a small air leak in fuel line
