matty40s
Lovely swimming hulls almost exclusively built for the hire market. 1970 - 199mid, when Anglo Welsh bought them out The early ones had GRP tops and some were built with far eastern steel of dubious quality needing plating in less than 10 years. I believe it is 1974 but haven't been able to confirm if it's had any hull work. The inside definitely looks like ex hire boat very basic.
Keith M
Dartline were a hire company. The only issue and this comes from personally experience are water leaks always from the GRP cabin. I could never stop the leaks. Wooden hand rails often look good but total rotten. Plus all of the other issues when buying a craft.
nickd
I had a 1980 Dartline between 2007 - 15. Lovely boat, beautifully designed inside, Lister SR3 with a metal cabin not GRP, ex hire boat but the base plate had been over-plated as had a lot of the sides. Very thin sides that corroded badly. A hull survey is a must.

And wood tops, and wood boats or wood bottoms and anything "historic". All are money pits.
EnglishRose
We are looking into Midway - the smaller boats which have a favourable layout for us.

Mick Sivewright worked with Midway on their boats. His Owl class narrowboat are very similar, the biggest difference is that the bows of the Owls were much less pointed. There are a couple of Owls on Apollo Duck including. 40ft boat which is very unusual for Mick. Just checked it’s a 27ft Owl that’s been stretched.
