any help or guidance much appreciated

As a matter of interest, why is it urgent?

I ask because someone may have a creative solution.

Marple is without a marina.

Since when?  There was one near the top lock  last week and I remember it being there  fifty odd years ago. ?

Maybe your definition of a marina differs from mine?

What size boat? Looks as though moorings are in strong demand. The nearest CaRT mooring available seems to be nearly 20 miles from Marple. They've always been popular but previous years have seen at least some a bit closer. Basically Furness Vale, New Mills and Marple marina and the offside moorings at Victoria Pit, Poynton, then Lyme View marina at Adlington.

The moorings at Marple and Furness Vale are both owned by the people at Furness Vale Marina. They did have vacancies recently so I would have a word with them. The numbers in the book

There are also some private offside moorings just below Furness Vale station.

Owners are Norman and Mary.

TW Marine will no doubt have their contact details.

Furness Vale came up trumps for us a few years ago. When regulars go out cruising they arrange to rent out their space.

Because you’re going to have to clear off in September or whenever they get back, it’s usually a bit cheaper. Worth a try

Options are. North cheshire cruising club, Victoria Pitt marina, lime view marina, Marple marina, Furness vale marina (manages Marple), new mills marina, captain jack's in Hyde, mad jack's (locally known as) in poynton, new Islington (Manchester Central), Portland basin (droylsden), various Bridgewater crusing clubs, or CRT waterside moorings (poynton, Whaley bridge, bugsworth etc).

Good luck.

Paul.

Did you find anything?

I was offered a private offside mooring between High Lane and Marple yesterday. and went to look at it today.

It is very 'off grid' but doable providing your boat is not too big or deep.

Has its own access and parking, but nothing else.

Land owner seems reasonable enough, but would not commit to a figure when asked how much ????

Msg me for info.
