Hi.

In my experience it varies so much that it would be impossible to give a meaningful answer. I have bad memories of the swing bridges along the K&A.

Mine were on the L&L where on the odd occasion passers-by had to co-opted into the operation

I remember one on the K&A, in the 90s, one morning around Aldermarston. It was frozen in place, what fun I had with that one! The really enjoyable ones are those that enable one to block a car or two, or three, especially if the driver is in a hurry and one really really is trying, honest guv.

But how much does your average Manual Swing Bridgw weigh when you push them?

The weight isnt that important, if it's well maintained and well balanced it needs hardly any effort to move.

On the other hand if it's not well maintained, as some of the ones we have recently encountered on the L&L, three strong people can only just move it ?
