Weston, Swarkestone and Stenson locks

Difficult locks made more so due to multiple issues. Weston takes 25 minutes to fill due to leaking bottom gates. Even then you have to push the top gates open with the boat. Swarkestone - you just see the postcard size warning about the sunken boat after you have run aground on it. Oh and the towpath side ground paddle doesn’t work and this lock takes 30 minutes to fill due to leaking bottom gates. And Stenson - the bottom offside gate doesn’t open. Anyway CRT have painted the water points so that’s a start.

Thank you for the warning.. Have you made CRT aware of the defects or are you afraid that they may say you are a vandal and you are responsible?

According to the locals these issues have all been reported to CRT many times.  The sunken boat was apparently recovered but some of it got pushed back in. The gate at Stenson has CRT ribbon on.
