Doh the towpath is private land

“In the case of towpaths, E-Scooters are prohibited under the Trust’s General Canal Bye-Laws in the same way as any vehicles are which have not been given permission by us. We have given general permission for all bicycles and vehicles that are designed for, and used as, mobility aids. We also do give specific permission for some operational vehicles such as sit-on mowers, quad bikes and vans where towpaths allow and only on an individual basis to complete vital operational and engineering works.”

I'll not be aiming to improve an that anytime soon, if ever!

IIRC we got Baron (72', 90hp 6cyl engine) up to 15mph coming down the River Lea with the current at two o'clock in the morning. But I wasn't entirely sober at the time -- or steering, before anyone asks. Mind you we must have been shifting, we left Broxbourne after midnight and stopped for a kip around 6am in Greenford... ?

The only answer is to install the barriers that makes cyclists get off every half mile, but still allows for prams, wheel chairs etc. as they have near places frequented by scooter/motorcycle boy racers .

And pay like we do to maintain the canal area

licence to use towpath on bikes
