I always thought a corn scoop or dipper was used by working boaters, apparently not. The hand bowl was referred to as both hand bowl and dipper. Also I have never seen a brass drawer cup handle on any photo on working boat cabin doors in its heyday. George Harris had one on a water can. Unless anyone knows different. Ray T, can I nick the photo of the family please? For some reason it has struck a cord and appeals. I bet you know who the characterful family are also. I bet you know who the characterful family are also. The family are George (Jumbo) Harris with his wife Marion with two of their children, Paul & Janet. The photo came from an article about the Harris Family from "Narrow Boat" May 1964 by Hugh McKnight. The photo is not mine, I will leave it to your discretion whether you copy it or not. If you do please give credit to the magazine article, thank you.
