Very good fish and chips are to be had from the Fisherman's Chippy besides the inner harbour at Mevagissey. Unusually for a chippy in a tourist hotspot in the UK they actually make an effort and serve up very palatable fish and chips consistently.

We also had some excellent ones from Harlees in Verwood this week. They are a small chain and this is not always a good thing. They also get very variable reviews on Trip Advisor so our expectations were not high, but they were actually very nice.

Sadly our local chippy at home has gone downhill lately so we no longer patronise them.

Luckily our local chippy serves excellent fish in very light and crispy batter. The chips are ok, not great but never bad. It will be homemade chips tonight with some very nice fishcakes from Morrisons.

We used to use the Fisherman's when we camped at Sea View, always very good but often long queues.  There would also be locals queuing which is usually a good sign.
