Make? Model? On a boat? If so you need an LPG certificated Gas Safe engineer not a land lubber one.  Give us a clue and we will help, we don't have crystal balls.

In addition, if it is on a boat, the fitter will need to have a boat qualification on their ticket. If you don't get a recommendation here, then you can use the gas safe register web site to search for people with suitable credentials. Follow this link for fitters with LPG and boat on their ticket in and around Lincoln. Then it is a matter of 'phoning round, when the process goes all 20th century again.

Yes, its on a boat, sorry but thought that would be self explanatory seeing as its a boating site.

Yes but is the boat used as a residence or only for leisure purposes? That makes a big difference.

As Tracy D said - Make and model, also can you tell where the leak is from - removing the cover may make it obvious.

Frost damage is a common cause of leaks though not usually at this time of year- with a Paloma this may split the heat exchanger which may be repairable by soldering if accessible, or the valve body may be distorted, in which case a replacement valve body is needed. Both of these repairs do not actually involve the gas side of the heater, the valve can be replaced with the heater in situ if access is reasonable. Getting spares may be more of an issue.

You'd be surprised. Boaters know about off grid living, so there are sometimes people looking for advice for motor homes, cabins in the woods, even houses. Always better to give as much information as possible.

Richard Free, not far away Sheffield Gas Safe, and an expert, not expensive, he will do your BSC for £160.

Richard Fee is based near Bradford not Sheffield. So further away then you think.

Bradford is about 80 miles (each way) from Lincoln and about 2 hours (each way) travel. When paying for travelling time and fuel it would make a simple, cheap, repair expensive,

Exactly, I don’t know why she mentioned  him being not far away Sheffield, when he is in Bradford and the OP is asking for help near Lincoln.
