I am not sure anyone knows how long they  are likely to last in boat use yet but a sister technology in cars lasts 10 year and still going. However, if you cock up stopping all charging at the appropriate time not very long at all.

 

They will accept all the charge you can throw at them so if poor light etc is limiting the solar output then no they won't receive more charge in winter. If however your lead acids are limiting what they will accept from the solar then lithiums will accept the full solar output (until charged to the point the charge is disconnected).

As Tony says, doesn't help much with solar in winter, we get virtually nothing from our panels in winter. They do make a big difference spring to autumn though. Advantage is no need to charge to 100% and batteries don't limit charging rate (for all practical purposes). As to how long they last, expecting 10 years+ probably more.

I still think you're doing well to get 2 years out of your existing batteries though, and don't think expensive lead acids will last any longer.
