Finding a site for fitting out a narrow boat

Hi what's the best way to find a dry standing site for fitting out a sailaway?

Google "northamptonshire boatyard" ?

 

I hope you don't take this the wrong way but if I had to ask this I'd be thinking, do I have what it takes to fit out a sailaway?  But now you'll probably shoot me down in flames and tell me you've previously built a 98' steel motoryacht from the keel up and launched it 18 months after the first weld. In which case I deserve everything you're about to throw at me.

I found mine on a nearby farm after posting on Facebook but quite a few boatyards will rent space. Debdale on the Leicester GU is one that comes to mind.

how big is your front garden? I kid you not, there used to be a narrowboat in a front garden near Crystal Palace football ground

Hi and thanks for the honest reply. I wouldn't shoot the messenger ?, I am a very experienced engineer with lots of boating experience and my friend is a carpenter so hopefully possess the skills, being of retirement age it's the internet skills that elude me so I thought I would make use of the knowledge here and maybe add a little.
