The skipper was left with only a few metres between the container and the houseboats

Over a dozen houseboats were saved by a quick-thinking skipper who stopped a floating container from crushing the marina.

The floating shipping container was surging down the Hawkesbury River at Webbs Creek Ferry, north west of Sydney.

Incredible footage shows the blue shipping container on a destructive path towards the houseboats before the vessel about half its size drives towards it and gently guides it away.

This is the sort of thing which in the UK would result in "hang, on, we need a risk assessment"

(I'm intrigued at the size range - not only is the "vessel" half the size of the shipping container but he's absolutely dwarfed by the boats on the left. And the ferry up top (assuming a ferry from the bow ramp?)
