temperature 1.8

Hi anyone know what temp should be on a 1.8 just ran ours for an hour just under the 70 im sure it used to run at 80, possibly cos its cold outside????? think its worth getting a new thermostat Any ideas welcome

I think Calcutt have fitted BMCs with low temperature stats to limit the calorifier temperature.

 

As long as the temperature sender is OK the only thing that it could be is the stat but if they fail they usually fail by opening late UNLESS yours is one that clips itself open on overheat. But if it is you would also be talking about long warm up times as well as a low running temperature. Ambient and water temperature should not affect the running temperature unless you have a marginal skin tank size and the 80 degrees was when running hard in hot temperatures.
