As I commented on a similar thread a while back, Belfast was wired using the colour code "brown for electricity".

Some VW Beetles were wired exclusively in pink.  Lovely darling!

Many years ago my father and I took his model railway (six baseboards) to an exhibition - as we were packing up we heard a worker on the adjacent layout exclaim "I like Stuarts colour code, pink for 12 volt!"
