Brinklow Boat services

Brinklow have a fine, well deserved reputation as top end builders and woodworkers. They are thoroughly old school and traditionally minded, working with historic craft restorations as well as new builds, often taking on tasks outside the remit of many modern yards. I’ve never been a customer, rather a specialist working alongside from time to time, though a good few of my customers have been theirs too. Years ago now, one of my customers, a long time boater, said

” Dave, you could put all of the quality builders in the back of a taxi!”...these guys have long earned that place....perhaps a minibus to accommodate the others.

Agree with all the above and have had work done by them. If having a boat built it would likely be Dave Ross or possibly Steve Priest, both at the top of their game but much in demand.

It would be wise to pin down a timeline but the reward for patience is quality.

Dave has recently created a Facebook page to showcase his work.

After seeing what these lads can do and reading the reviews theses are the lads to use ....just need to find one hell of a big bag of cash to pay them now ...

Judging by what's been written above, you may have a couple years in which to save up.

If you don't want to wait that long. you could do worse than look at 'Quail' a Brinklow boat currently on sale at Glascote Boatyard. Gorgeous lines and a proper engine!

You should take a look at Ian Kemp at dadfords yard, stourbridge,  if you're considering a new build.  His son David has taken over building new shells,  much like Brinklow, but not as well known.

They don't advertise but you'll find them on Facebook.
