But sounding it  gives you the "get out of jail free" card, of course you could just wave a Blue Flag or hoist a Blue Board 🤭

'Blue Flagging/Boarding' is an extremely useful manoeuvre to carry out at times, but it is only relevant to areas where the CEVNI rules apply, which do not include the UK   🇪🇺

Just made it out the marina in time, thankfully we turned left! This was 14:50 last Sat (4/6)

Please forward the photo to CRT to highlight the issue of wide beams on this stretch of canal and that they aren't issuing notices of the boats being moved.

Agreed Rob but note that from the information in previous posts the source of the idea that CRT aren't interested is the owner of this boat. It does beg the question as to whether they are aware, and have been reliably informed in the past.

This must be the big light blue Aqualine(60x12ft??) I passed moored up a few hours ago, not hard to miss, sticks out like a sore thumb.

Gosh, that' the first post on this topic in weeks. Perhaps the shallow water had been preventing them from unsticking from their moorings.

If anyone is members of the Wendover Trust you will see they have the answer to stopping wide boats in their latest magazine. I would copy it but it may be copywrite

A bit like the lock at the inland end of the Droitwich Barge Canal?

I looked but it all seems to be centred around HS2 works. Can you give us a clue where it is please?

In summary, it says they built a narrows.

Not sure why that might contravene copyright.

Excellent idea, can we have one just south of Dunchurch pools please?  How about sinking a couple of wrecks?

Given CRT policy of no longer dredging, we could surreptitiously build our own. If we all just put a pile of bricks on our tug decks and pushed them off on the offside as we passed through the already narrow bit, eventually MILES AWAY would not be able to get through!

Noooooo, then it’ll be stuck doing laps of the marina and it’ll be a nightmare to get off the mooring!

Unless you enact your dastardly plan once its down Braunston way 🤔

Can't we ask them to build one on the northern side of Braunston Junction?

Damn, it's already been suggested. That'll teach me not to respond until I have read all of the thread. 😂🤣
