For houses where the escape route floods the EA make it clear that their only responsibility is to warn you the flood is on the way and they advise you against staying in the house even if the habitable floors are above flood level. If you put that together what they sre saying is if you're stranded and something goes wrong it's not their problem. 

 

On a boat the issue is less severe as you will have water, power and sewage capacity for a few days (all of which can be problematic in a house surrounded by water) but I would still want a way off if things went wrong or if I fell ill.

Have a scroll through...think they have come from the Acton Bridge Cruising Club....very sad

By the look of it, they have left the sluices more down where the boats are stuck, the other are fully up. Hopefully this might mean they survive until the water level and flow  drops.
