Presumably it didn't have an egg whisk, it would have had a proper LARGE propeller.

Which certainly helps, but can't work miracles --- it still won't have propellor efficiency much above 60% and a (properly sized) egg whisk will be at least 50%, so at best it's equivalent to a 20% more powerful engine.

Marine engineering facts which no amount of eulogising about LARGE propellors will change... ?

Power is one problem (which is what I was asking about), endurance is the other. Can do at least 3 hours with a 15kW motor.(and 30kWh of batteries and a 7kW genny), but this is where it gets tricky -- a more powerful motor (e.g. 25kW) is great for power, but then the batteries run out after less than 2 hours...

The Ribble link is probably the most difficult problem for electric boats to solve...

Couldn't the solar panels be rigged as temporary sails...? ????

We did it with EmilyAnne, which will usually do just about about 5kn 6mph in open water with the wind behind her, and then made a monumental mess of the firing due mainly to some poor grade and an untested mixed blend of coal.

We got down to 1mph over land, creeping up the edge, and having missed the Savick brook window, arrived at Preston well after the deadline and where let in anyway thankfully.

The return trip was less dramatic, but at worst case we would have dropped anchor and gone again next tide I guess, we had also asked about where outside Preston was safe to dry out for a tide. The trip back was I am told much less exciting and or badly fired.

A case of underheating on the Ribble Link rather than the more common overheating?
