RCR make a £1000 contribution to the cost of parts if you've got more than basic cover. Why would they be fleecing anyone?

In my experience they seem to recommend a new engine etc for usually quite trivial faults....it seems from this ad they then sell said faulty engine.

Many instances of bad deals with RCR and their co-conspirators Key Diesels. Like "clients" having 3 engines fitted and still having to go to another marine engineers to buy a totally new engine.

Or being told they need a new gearbox...then a new engine...for a jammed inlet valve that was a fairly simple head off job....these sort of stories are endless. Oh and RCR directors threatening all sorts when these matters were raised...

We had one last summer, new starter or engine needed according to RCR.

We polled down to us, put 1/2 litre of oil in the gearbox, problem solved....charged the starter battery, heyho, they carried on round the Thames ring.

It's the wrong green anyway....

A new beta 43 from beta would be £6900+vat

My main questions about this ad would be Where's the secondary alternator? Would indicate its an old engine, no mention of head being skimmed or any machining work, which for an old engine would be essential for a recon job.... Expensive but necessary.

No experience of key diesel or rcr other than neutral ones having never been a paying customer so not besmirching them in this just commenting on the advert.
