As a bit of a lockdown project I have been putting together a list of online historic UK waterway film. It is at

Historic Canal Film (timlewis.org.uk)

I would be interested of hearing of any others that may be out there.

Cracking idea Tim, perhaps get it listed on Richard's CanalplanAc

Thanks Tim, it was great to see Dirty Weekend, I haven't seen it since the seventies. There are lots of familiar (to me) faces on it, lots of whom I still see, and takes me back to how working parties used to be.

Absolutely! The 70s at Marple is before my time navvying, but there were a few faces there I recognised too.

I think the Health and Safety Bod would have a few words to say about some of those practices today!

Is it worth noting films The Bargee and Painted Boats as a sub-set. Also Idle Women, the BBC TV film held by BFI. They all have some interesting footage.

Tam

Sadly neither of these appears to be available to watch online, am sure that they were once but I cannot find them now.
