Is the placement of IT's (if fitted) enforced in the Regulations? Seems like it should be 

Didn't catch fire but my potted airlink did get quite hot and smoky before failing entirely, i suspect it was the thermistor which is inaccessible due to the potting compound but it could have been a wiring short. It has been replaced with a higher rated unit in a home built case of fire proof board (with ventilation for cooling) (its in a marina so not possible to have on the bank)
