Coal supplies, Stourbridge/Kinver area.

Looking for local knowledge please. Where's the best place to buy coal between Wombourne and Kinver and Stourbridge. Either canal side, or accessible by car. There don't seem to be any fuel boats plying this bit of the Staffs and Worcester, is that true?

Is very leaving in facilities in that area, no fuel boat since Roach stopped trading. There is a Sainsbury's near the canal at Wombourne that may do small bags, there is the Bonded warehouse at the end of the Stourbridge arm.

They do coal? Genius, thank you! We came up the four locks at Stourton today for a change of scene, so will head down the arm to wind and get some there. Never been down the arm, so that's a chance to add to our meagre collection of new waterways cruised in 2020 as well.

I've not bought coal there but have bought gas there in the past so I presume they will sell coal.

Charlton Whitehouse of Wolverhampton deliver coal to Kinver and surroundings by lorry and will deliver by boat, but these

are infrequent. They took over the deliveries made on NB Roach up to a couple of years ago. http://www.cwfuels.co.uk/. We have used them a couple of times so far.

Thanks for all the suggestions, went down the arm this morning and Gary did the bidness. Quarter of a ton of Taybrite embarked, water tank filled and cassettes emptied. Note for future visitors here: cash only but there are plenty of cash machines in easy reach in Stourbridge town centre.

 

Whilst we we there we hit Aldi too, so have enough supplies to ride out the oncoming collapse of civilisation.

If your taking out that amount of cash, best to use a inbranch machine rather than one on the street.

You never know who's hanging near a ATM. You may get mugged
