Hello I’m looking to re-fit my complete narrow boat could anyone recommend a good company 45 ft traditional narrow boat ps has any one got an idea of cost ,

Where is the boat located, what work do you need (total interior refurb only total repaint, new engine etc etc etc! You have asked a "piece of string" question without giving these minor details?

Have a look in a canal magazine such as waterways World and there are plenty of adverts for boat builders, boatyards etc which would be able to advise.

Good Luck!

As you are now aware, it's vital to give full details of the boat, it's age and original builder, add to that details of what you want done.

Its unlikely that anyone with the ability to do the job could be expected to be available for many months. Catch 22 is that the only offers you get promising an early start will be from the incapable optimists.

Material prices are currently about three times the  correct level so no one can give realistic estimates

Unless the shell is by a reputed builder, preferably bespoke, not too old and in perfect condition a total refit is probably going to cost more than the whole finished boat would sell for.

Folk who refit almost new boats that have had a fire, been totally vandalised or been sunk  say, generally find that at the end of the refit they have spent more than they could have bought a new finished boat for.

Also consider that now on a refit there is a lot of paperwork to be updated and new certificates to acquire, see RCD directive regarding major changes.
