Do you think the Police are that bothered?  Enough to stop people?

Up here in the Lakes they had "spoken to" 700 and fined 24 in the first few days of this lockdown and in the first lockdown were turning people round and escorting them back to the M6.

Indeed, but this was the first lockdown, which was a true lockdown - things were clearer back then and far less traffic. You can be driving around for a multitude of reasons now ...

No the 700 and the 24 were in the first days of this lockdown.

ah sorry i misunderstood. .   its mostly just advice though so it seems?

With all the different tiers and areas subject to change every 14 days a valid excuse would be 'sorry i didn't know' !

Sorry I appear to have missed the word fined out after the 24.  Not sure how you can fine people for not taking advice or order them to go home for not taking advice.

Not sure in the current lock down there is much that is advice, the legislation states the reasons why you can be outside your house.  However it is very not specific about the exercise one, and that is where people I suspect are pushing it.  I don’t know what the police can do about that, so assuming that is the excuse people are giving, it is hard to see how they have been issued fines.

I thin k a number of them had come a good distance bringing motorhomes with them.   However the Police spokesman didn't explain why they were fined.

not easy to police. If you're going about your business and keeping to guidelines I can't believe the police will be interested.

There was an MP in the commons yesterday complaining to Hancock that the lockdown had prevented him from taking his daily morning swim in the Serpentine.

My own thoughts were that he should stop moaning, stop wasting parliaments time with his 1st world entitled issues, and continue with his morning swim. There would be a 100% chance that the police would not disturb him.

Maybe not, but he would be seen by the public.

And who'd be the first to bring up 'do as I say, not as I do' and Dominic's trip to Durham ?

With all this uncertainty I think I'll have my boat craned into the back garden.

Win - win all round, I can visit it and save on fees.

I've got a quick question about winterising our boat. I didn't bother last year as it was so mild but this year I'm looking at the pumpout. Ours has its own dedicated 400 litre tank (no idea why!) so thinking .... would it hurt to add antifreeze to this?  a little concerned about its effects once it leaves the tank - all those pipes/pumps/seals etc which are probably not designed for this - would it damage it?

Is this a tank of flushing water, if so why not do the same as the rest of the plumbing. Isolate tank and drain pump and pipes.?

not so easy on this 'circuit' ... might have to remove the pump or loosen it - thanks for the tip though!

Is there a strainer on the pump, you may be able to let air in that way and pump it through,
